jaipur: After registering over 100% growth in tourist arrivals in 2022 compared to the pre-Covid year 2019, Rajasthan has recorded another stellar jump with footfalls rising 80% in the first six months of 2023, fuelled by domestic tourists.
In all of 2022, 10.83 crore tourists visited the state, while in the first six months of the current calendar year, the number of arrivals stood at 6.62 crore. In fact, the growth comes despite the foreign tourist arrivals remaining muted, continuing with the post-Covid trend.
Rashmi Sharma, director, department of tourism said, “The super-charged growth was what the government tried to achieve through a raft of path-breaking policy measures that not only infused confidence in the industry, but also expanded the state’s visibility in the key markets.”
